Curatorial Statement
My curatorial practice grows as an organic extension of my studio art process, rooted in genuine care for how art is made, presented, and received. As a curator, I am committed to creating spaces that are nurturing, inclusive, and open… Spaces where artists can share their work as profound, transformative journeys rather than transactional encounters.
I strive to engage audiences in ways that invite resonance, reflection, and growth; encouraging learning, acceptance, and cultural understanding. My interests span themes of human connection, psychology, mental health, healing, spirituality, queer theory, feminism, decolonization, climate change, and our evolving relationship with nature.
In my approach, I honor the integrity of each artwork while fostering meaningful dialogue among works, artists, and viewers. I am especially drawn to the processes that shape an artwork, recognizing that its significance extends far beyond the final product. I often work collaboratively with artists, supporting them in creating new works and cultivating conversations that deepen their awareness of the exhibition context.
While I appreciate all forms of art, I am particularly intrigued by how meaning emerges through the use of materials, textures, and colors, and how these choices resonate within socio-political and cultural contexts. Equally important to me are the methods and tools of making; the gestures, experiments, and decisions that shape a work of art, because they carry as much significance as the finished piece. Through thoughtful curation, I seek to reveal the depth of these creative journeys and to craft experiences that are more transformative, connective, and sustaining for both artists and audiences alike.
