Curatorial Statement

My curatorial practice is an organic extension of my personal studio art process, rooted in an honest care for the context of how art is made, presented and seen. As a curator, I am committed to "holding the space" and to creating a nurturing and inclusive environment where artists can freely express their work as a deeply personal and transformative journey. I strive to curate exhibitions that honor each artwork's unique integrity and narrative, while fostering meaningful dialogues and connections between them. My ultimate goal is to create an immersive experience that inspires contemplation, cultivates acceptance, and fosters a profound appreciation for the diverse voices and perspectives beyond just the art world. I believe that art is a powerful tool for self-expression, healing, learning, personal and cultural development. As a curator, I am deeply interested in themes of human connections and psychology, cultural dynamism, spirituality, healing, queer identity, feminism, decolonization, climate change and our broken relationship with nature.  I am particularly drawn to the process behind each artwork, recognizing that it extends beyond the final product. While I appreciate art in various media, I am especially intrigued by how meaning emerges from the specific usage of materials, textures, colors, and their relationship with the space or environment, as well as the socio-political and cultural contexts. Through thoughtful curation, I aim to unveil the depth and significance inherent in the creative processes.
